Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 9/08/2020

Wednesday last week saw the best field ever face the starter and it was Graeme Andrews who won the day. Graeme had his first win after a few minor placings in recent weeks, His 37 points was just good enough to beat Gailes Visitor Ian Bohn 36 and Herb McMillen counted out Robbie Porter when they both had 35points. Bruce the Gnome won the NTP on the 11th.

The Thursday vet event saw the Little Pecker himself, Sparra Taggart win with 35 points after a countback with Marj Chappell. Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde also had 35 but could only claim third spot. This of course means Les shot his age again, the first in a while so good to him regaining a bit of form.

We held a club event on Saturday and only a small field turned up to play and half of them pulled out when the weather turned a little wet. Of those that did finish it was Murrumbidgee Country Club member and former local John Bayliss that finished on top. John had 35 points in difficult conditions. Dactyl Carlon was next best with 34. The same two players also won the NTP’s John on the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th and Dactyl on the Bridges Finance 17th.

In an effort not to mention Ross Anderson this week I must mention Bruce (The Gnome) who was early on Saturday. Bruce in fact was the first to arrive so he either wet the bed or had his clock upside down or something like that. The Gnome in notorious for being just a little late so there has to be an explanation for his early arrival.

Quote of the week: “I just bought myself a new blindfold but I cannot see myself wearing it”.

Good Golfing
