A not so nice a day greeted the few players that did turn out for golf last Wednesday. It was the consistent and in form Jason Brady that won the day. Jason had a very solid 39 points to finish a clear winner. Warren Sellings claimed second spot with 35 and Darrell Carson was third with 34. Nobody managed to claim the NTP.
The Thursday veterans had a much nicer day but only a small field turned out to play. Port Macquarie visitor Lea Cooper won after a countback with Margaret Macready and John Holthouse was the best of the men and claimed third spot.
Geoff Wood was the sponsor for the Guzzler’s Mug on Saturday and again we had a good field. The inform Warren Sellings again won this time with a nett 67. I hope that the handicapper is catching up with Warren and that he continues his good form. Well done Warren. Chalkie Chandler claimed second spot with 68 after a three way countback with Neil Bullen and Jon Izzard.
NTP winners were, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Marj Chappell and Bridges Finance 17th Geoff Wood. The RAB 3rd was not won, and the ball competition went to 73.
Sunday saw enough people turn up to play after the AGM concluded. Aaron Whackett, with 39 points was a clear winner. Aaron pushed Sam Smith, 36 to second spot and FTG Anderson was next best with 34 after a countback with Marj Chappell.
The club’s AGM was held on Sunday morning and the new Committee is, President Darrell Carson, Vice President Doug Taggart, and Captain Jon Izzard, Committee members Duncan McLean, David Ayre, Warren Sellings and Tim Bower. Ross Anderson will continue as Vice-Captain whilst not a board member.
