Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 28/02/2021

Once again the Wednesday Wacker’s attracted a good field and most of us got finished, although a couple of groups decided that it was too wet and missed the last couple of holes.

The day’s winner was Jim Walkinshaw with 39 points. Well done Jim. Jim has been playing well of late and continually knocking on the door. The getting back to firm Robbie Porter had 38 to claim second spot and the very consistent Barry Cameron was third with 35. Murray Kennedy will play with the Orange Ball next week.

The vet’s only attracted a small field as once the again the weather looked threating and it fact there was a fair amount of rain during the day.

Marj Chappell won the day with 36 points and Noelene Porter made it a clean sweep for the Ladies by taking second spot.

The continuing rain prevented any play on Saturday so the Guzzlers Mug was cancelled for February. At the time of doing this report there was some talk of a Sunday competition if the members were interested.

The Club Championships start next weekend and will continue the following weekend. A nomination sheet is up on the Board and we are hoping that a good number of members play to make this an interesting competition in all the grades.

Quote of the week: “The most ground breaking invention of all time is the Shovel.”

Good Golfing
