Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 27/09/2020

Last Wednesday’s field was down a little as several of our regulars continue to work on the course each day. Our band of volunteers continue to help the Bloom’s Water staff install our new watering system and hopefully it will all be finished by the end of next week.

Back to the golf though, Ian Bohn, after two ordinary scores, returned to the winners circle. Ian had 38 points finishing three clear of Geoff Wood 35 who counted out Mick Welbourn.

The Thursday vet’s competition also only attracted a small field and Michael Petrov won from Tony Whiting with John Holthouse. Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde has not been mentioned in dispatches recently but no doubt there will be a return to form soon as normally he is way to consistent.

You don’t have to be mad to play golf but it sure helps! A pretty good field turned out last Saturday in what was very ordinary conditions; whilst it did not rain it was cold and very windy. Neil Free with a nett 70 won the day in the Geoff Wood sponsored monthly mug. Graeme Andrews took second place with a nett 72 and as suggested above Les (I’m in a Hurry) Forde was next best with nett 73 after a countback with Vicki Barraclough and Jason Brady.

NTP winners were NAB 3rd 7 the 11th both won by Jason Brady, NAB 6th Crewy Cameron, 9th Jon Izzard, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Vicki Barraclough and the Bridges Finance 17th the Big Bird (with the little pecca) himself Sparra Taggart.

Quote of the week: “If man is only a little lower than the Angels, the Angels should reform.”

Good Golfing
