Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 22/08/2020

Wednesday golf again attracted a good field last week and pretty tough conditions made scoring difficult for most of the players.  Warren Sellings however, found it not too difficult and had 38 points to claim first place. Barry Cameron had 37, his best score in quite a while, to claim second and Bruce the Gnome was next best with 36. Graeme Andrews won the NTP on the 15th and boy it must have looked good from the tee, finishing just a few inches behind the hole.

Thursday’s lousy weather scared off the veteran’s on Thursday and only enough turned up to play a little social golf. The same applied on Saturday and golf was called off at 10:15 due to the lack of keen numbers.

The previously postponed Veteran’s Week of Golf, Sept 14-18 has also been cancelled because of the Covid-19 restrictions and plans are in place for next year’s April event. Visitors of course are still welcome at Uralla Golf Club to play in any of our regular competitions. We may even be able to organize a couple of days open golf in place of the Week of Golf.

Quote of the week: “So many people these days are too judgmental. I can tell, just by looking at them.”

Good Golfing
