Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 16/08/2020

The fields were a bit smaller this week as we had several regular players enjoying a golfing week in the Coffs Harbour area. I believe they played Woolgoolga, Bonville, Nambucca Heads and Sawtell and all but one of them were not fit enough to front up at Uralla and play a fifth time in 6 days. Ross Anderson played on Saturday and was showing the signs of a tough week and claimed the mars bar.

The Wednesday Wacker’s saw Sam Smith win with 35 points after a countback with Neil Bullen. Sam had 22 points on the back nine so was always going to be hard to beat on a countback. Les Forde slowing getting back into form claimed 3rd spot and Sam won the NTP on the 15th.

Tony (Popeye) Whiting won the Thursday Vet’s event from John Holthouse, Noelene Porter was third and also the best of the ladies.

Dactyl Carlon won the club event on Saturday from another small field of players. Dactyl had 36 points to narrowly beat Pete Doyle and Graeme Andrews and Anthony Connors, all who had 35 points.

NTP winners were RAB 3rd Dactyl Carlon, NAB 6th Aaron Whackett, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Anthony Connors and the Bridges Finance 17th Shane Barralough.

Quote of the week: “I thought orthopedic shoes were overrated but I stand corrected”.

Good Golfing
