Carol’s Weekly Wrap 26/9/21

26/9/2021

Last Wednesday the Wednesday Wacker’s played a single stableford with a good field of 25, and the winner with 39 pts was once again Tim Bower, runner up on c/b was Michael Welbourne with 36 pts from John Holman. We had visitors from Sawtell and Armidale Golf Clubs.

Thursday Vets played a single stableford with a good turn up of 17 players, and the winner was Noelene Porter with 38 pts, runner up was Mike McILveen with 36 pts.

Saturday we played “The Guzzlers Mug” sponsored by Geoff Wood, 34 players tried their best to beat the winner with 65 Nett which was Julie Presnell from Walcha, as she isn’t a member of Uralla she couldn’t receive the Mug. So the winner of the Mug with another great score of 66 nett was John Holman. The course must be in good condition with these amazing scores. NTP’s  were Bruce “The Gnome” McMullen on the 3rd Crewy Cameron on the 6th, Simon Cross from Walcha on the 9thth, Geoff Wood on the 11th Dactyl on the 15th  and Owen Presnell from Walcha on the 17th.   The Mars Bar went to Murray Kennedy.  We welcomed visitors from South West Rocks Golf Club, Walcha Golf Club and Sussex Inlet Golf Club. Hope to see you again soon.

Sunday had a small field of 9 and the winner who seems to back in form was again John Holman with 25pts.

It seemed that on Sunday all the members who drink Tooheys New at the raffles were told just before the raffles started, that if they wanted a new they would have to go and drink it of the floor of the keg room. Apparently the keg was changed and our happy volunteer (Mr Slim) was so pleased with himself that he had done it well for the first time, unknown to him that he forgot to switch over the bleeder and then wondered why the beer was not pouring, when we went to check the keg, the beer keg was empty (all over the floor). A lesson learnt, with mop in hand it was cleaned up quickly.

The raffles are back in full swing again on Friday nights and Sunday mornings.  Tickets on sale from 6.30pm for Friday nights and for Sunday are from 11.30am. The clubhouse will be open next weekend (The Long Weekend) for all to enjoy.

THE CLUBHOUSE WILL NOW BE OPEN MONDAY TO THURSDAY FROM 4PM TILL 7PM. $5 SCHOONERS AND $4 MIDDIES AVAILABLE. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
