Carol’s Weekly Wrap 27/8/23
Wednesday the Whackers played a single stableford and he winner with 38pts was Gary Dowdell, r/up was Neil Free with 37pts. The orange ball went Neil Dark from Walcha Golf Club. We welcomed visitors from Armidale, Walcha, Massey Park and Springwood Country Golf Clubs.
Thursdays Vets played a single stableford and the winner with 39pts was Margaret Macready, r/up was Ian Duncan with 33pts.
Saturday was The Guzzlers Mug sponsored by Geoff Wood and the winner with 63nett was Sally Burraston, r/up was Neil Free on a c/b from Bary Cameron with 69. The Mars Bar Award went to Rhonda McIlveen.
Yesterday we lost one of our long time Life Members Lily Faulkner, she will be missed by so many people. She touched so many hearts with her gentle and funny etiquette for the game of golf. She loved everyone she met and loved her golf, until a couple of years ago when ill health took over and she couldn’t play anymore. She still went around in the cart with her daughters Mary and Jane. Our deepest condolences to all the family.
We will be holding an information night on Thursday 31st August at 6pm. All members are invited to attend to hear how the club is going and moving forward with the Servies Club. This is your time to ask any questions that you may have in regard to this.
The Scramble event is on the 23rd of September, it’s a 4 person Ambrose so get your team together. Information regarding this event is on the notice board at club.
Twilight will be starting again soon, so grab your teams and fill in the nomination form which will be at the Bar by end of this week. There will be some great prizes up for grabs each month. The Major Sponsor with be The Uralla Golf Club. More details on start date later this week.
The kitchen is now in full swing with our new caterer and new menu. If you haven’t tried the new menu you should come on out. The Kitchen is open Tuesday – Sunday, 12pm to 2.30pm and 6pm to 8pm. No Sunday dinners, only lunch. Take aways are also available.
Our Courtesy Bus is available for pick ups and drop offs, contact the club for details.
The club will be now open from 10am till late on Tuesdays to Sunday. Closed Mondays.
Raffles are onFriday nights and Sunday mornings. Joker Jackpot is on Friday nights and the members draw is on Friday nights and Sunday mornings.
