Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 19/07/2020
After being away on and off over the past couple of weeks and having not done a report for three weeks I thought that I should get back into it.
The Wednesday Wacker’s this week attracted a good field and Ross (FTG) Anderson that won the day with a very solid 40 points. FTG you do realise that you are only meant to play 18 holes don’t you. Jimmy Walkinshaw and Michael Welbourn took the minor placings with 37 and 35 respectively. Richard Cannon will again play with the orange ball next week.
Only a small field fronted up for the Thursday Vets event and it was Noelene Porter who proved too strong for the field. Noelene beat John Holthouse and Arthur Dew (Byron Bay) to claim the major prize.
Saturday was the two person Ambrose for both the men and the ladies with the local winners going on to play in a regional final and the possibility to play in the state final at Bonville in November.
Jon Izzard and Aaron Whackett 61 nett won on a countback from Neil Bullen and Charlie Murray. Whilst Jon and Aaron won the local first prize both pairs will progress to the regional playoff at the Longyard, I believe some time in October. Carol Shields and Mary Dufty won the ladies event with nett 70. Well done girls.
NTP Winners on the day were, RAB 3rd Deli Faulkner, NAB 6th Robbie Porter, 9th Jason Brady, 11th Peter Dixon (Hey Dicko did your foot slip) Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Chalkie Chandler and Bridges Finance 17th Mary Dufty.
Quote of the week: “I purchased a belt made out of $50 notes. It was a waist of money”.
