Carol’s Weekly Wrap 31/7/21
CAROL’S WEEKLY WRAP
31/7/2021
Last Wednesday the Wednesday Wacker’s played a stableford in the muddy conditions of the course due to all the rain we have received. The wet course didn’t deter some great scores that came in, (not sure if they played the same nine twice, but my guess is “not”). The winner with 39pts was Warren Sellings and runner up was Gary Dowdell with 35pts. No one could get near the greens for nearest the pins.
Thursday Vets was washed out again due to the thunder storm we had on the Wednesday night bringing another inch to the already wet course, hopefully we will get a game in next Thursday.
Just a reminder also about our Vets Open 4Ball on Thursday 13th August, entries close Monday the 9th August.
We finally got to have a game on Saturday after being washed out for the last 4 weeks. We played the Guzzlers Mug sponsored by Geoff Wood and the winner of the day was Aaron Whackett with 70 nett and runner up was Barry (Crewy) Cameron with 71. The Mars Bar was awarded to Jason Brady.
We had a few reach the greens today for nearest the pins, on the 6th was no other than myself Carol Shields, 9th Tod Jacobs, 11th Jason Brady, 15th the Old Capitan himself Jon Izzard and the 17th was Neil Free. I heard there was a little bit of club throwing at the back of the 12th, due to not being able to chip onto the green, took him a couple of goes before throwing his club at his buggy, and decided to putt instead and walked off with an 8.
For those wishing to play golf on any of these days, the tees off times are as below
Wednesday Wackers 9.30am for 10am tee off
Thursday Vets 9.30am for 10am tee off
Saturday 10am for 10.30 tee off
Hope to see some more visitors here soon.
Also the Kitchen is open for dinner on Tuesday night. They are also available for functions (contact club for more information). We also have raffles on Sunday mornings starting at 12.30pm. Come along and support our great little country golf club.
Next Saturday 7th August will be a 4BBB sponsored by The Wednesday Wackers.
