Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 6/09/2020
Once again a very good field turned out to play last Wednesday and once again the weather treated us very well. The improving and consistent Warren Sellings once again won the day. Warren had a solid 39 points to relegate Ian Bohn (Gailes Golf Club) into second spot with 37. Ian counted out MacLean Golf Club visitor Anne D’Arcy.
Jim Walkinshaw won the NTP on the 3rd my old mate Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde should play with the orange ball next week, although we might have trouble getting him to change from his normal yellow ball.
Several of our veterans went to Glen Innes on Thursday and we had a great day although, as a team, we did not perform very well. Those vets that stayed at home played a stableford and once again it was Anne D Arcy, this time with 40 points who was a clear winner. Coleen Taggart was next best after a countback with Ian Duncan.
Gary Mackaway was the trophy sponsor for Saturday’s stableford. A good field once again hit off and it was new member Kim Burraston with 41 points claiming the major prize. The ever improving Graeme Andrews took second with 40 and Neil Cullen third with 37.NTP winners were, RAB third (not won) NAB 6th Anne D’Arcy, Rob Brown’s Denture Clinic 15th Owen Presnell (Walcha) and Bridges Finance 17th Neil Free.
Sunday saw the qualifying round of the statewide Keno Mixed 4BBB and the combination of Shane & Vicki Barraclough were the winners and will represent Uralla at the Longyard in October.
