Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 3/05/2020

Another strong field hit off last Wednesday and Tony Duff made it two wins in three weeks with 37 points. Tony just beat Jim Walkinshaw with 36 after a countback with Tiger Clutterbuck. Dom Bower and Darrell Carson both had 35. Jim Walkinshaw also won the NTP on the 6th.

The Coronavirus must be getting to us all, a couple of weeks back I arrived at the first tee ready to go except that I had left my clubs in the car, so back to the carpark I had to go. Last Wednesday Chalkie Chandler had a little cart trouble which delayed him a little and he was in such a hurry to catch up he forgot to hit off the 12th tee.

I seem him putt out on the 11th and then drive down the 12th fairway only to be driving back up the 12th fairway a minute later. He had completely forgotten to tee off.

The Thursday vets did not play last week as it looked a lot like it was going to rain, however the rain held off and they could have easily got their round in without getting wet.

Saturday though was a very cold and windy day and only a few brave (or mad) players took to the course. In very tough conditions Robbie Porter proved too strong and his score of 34 made him a clear winner over Shane Barraclough, 32 and Michael Petrov 31 after a three way countback with Bruce the Gnome and Neil Bullen.

Quote of the week.  “Always remember you are unique, just like everyone else.”

Good Golfing
