Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 24/01/2021

I am back after a few weeks break. I hope everybody enjoyed the festive season and that you had a great time with your loved ones.

Whilst the report stopped for a few weeks the golf did not. The course continues to improve and people are out there playing and enjoying the fact that the course is currently as good as I have ever seen it and predicted summer rains should keep it that way.

The Wednesday Wacker’s had a good field last week and Duncan Arthur had his first win in a long time when his 36 points was good enough to count out Troy Dawson and claim first place. Tony Park was next best with 35. Tim Murray won the NTP on the 11th.

The Thursday veterans attracted a small field but Jack Mitchell made it two wins in a row when he won with 35 points. Michael Welbourn was second with 34 after a countback with Carol Shields.

Jason Brady was the sponsor for Saturday’s Bisque Par event and the winner of the day was regular visitor Ian Bohn (Gailes Golf Club Brisbane) with +4 but only after a countback with Tony Park.NTP winners were RAB 3rd Todd Jacobs, NAB 6th Bruce (The Gnome) McMullen, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Crewy Cameron and the Bridges Finance 17th Tim Beaumont.

The Club Championships have been programmed for the weekends of March 6 & 7 and March 13 & 14. Jon has organized a program for the year and it will soon be available on the club’s website.

This year we are also running an eclectic over the year and each individual round will count towards this. You are automatically entered and your scores are automatically updated. We are also looking to conduct another shootout event a little later in the year.

Quote of the week: “One day you will be able to tell your grandkids “I survived the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020.”

Good Golfing
