Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 02/08/2020
Tony Duff seems to be making it a habit to win on Wednesdays. Last week Tony had 40 points again and was a clear winner from Neil Cullen and Barry Cameron and Robbie Porter who all had 35 with Neil taking second spot on a countback. Geoff Wood won the NTP on the 9th.
The Thursday vets attracted a better field on Thursday and Tony Whiting returned to the winners circle for the first time in a fair while. Noelene Porter took second place and Gary Dowdell, returning from injury, was next best.
New England Building Consultants was the sponsor for an individual stableford last Saturday and a beautiful winter’s day greeted a good field. Thank you to Warren for his generous sponsorship.
Pete Doyle was the winner with 38 points from Bruce (The Gnome) McMullen after a countback with Darrell Carson, FTG Anderson, Vicki Barraclough and Barry Cameron. Not sure of all the NTP winners but Charlie Murray 11th, Neil Bullen on the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th and Dactyl Carlon on the Bridges Finance 17th.
Ross Anderson has been subject to a couple of different names over the years, like when he used to have trouble with the 16th he was known as Ross I Love the 16th Anderson. Currently he is known as FTG Anderson but from now on he should be called Tiger Anderson. It seems that last Saturday FTG on several occasions was looking for his ball after a drive, at least 100 metres past where it actually was. Now we have another regular player (Tiger C) that regularly goes past his ball thinking he has hit it further than he actually did. FTG did the same thing last Saturday and his playing partners christened him Tiger.
Quote of the week: “Finding your lost luggage at the airport should be easy, but that’s not the case”.
