Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 04/08/2019
The Wednesday Wacker’s attracted a good field last week and it was Ross Anderson had a great day shooting 78 off the stick to have 43 points and be a clear winner. Neil Cullen was next best with 34 after a countback with Murray Kennedy. Congratulations Ross I think that is probably your best ever score off the stick and there will be no looking back now as your handicap continues to fall.
The Thursday Veteran’s competition also had a clear winner when Ian Duncan had 39 to take the major prize. Phillip Kelly was once again relegated to second spot with 37. Ian Duncan made the day complete when he also collected the NTP on the 3rd hole.
Kirin and Bianca Walters were the sponsors for an individual stableford on Saturday and a good field hit off. The winner of the day was Neil (Splitpin) Cullen with a solid 38 points. Crewy Cameron was next best with 37 and Bruce (the Gnome) McMullen took 3rd spot after a countback with Shane Barraclough.
NTP winners were, Geoff Wood on both the RAB 3rd and the 9th, Nab 6th Darrell Carson, Vicki Barraclough 11th and Dactyl Carlon on both the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th and Bridges Finance 17th. Coleen Taggart won the Mars Bar.
Whilst on the subject of Coleen, readers of this report would be well aware that I have regularly pointed out that Coleen is the best golfer in the Taggart family. Well on Saturday Doug was letting me know that Coleen had won the Mars Bar and he had in fact beaten her by comfortably. I then needed to point out that she has to now give him 6 or 7 shots start. In fact Coleen is currently the best lady player in the club and I have to remind Doug that he is a long way from the best male player in the club.
Quote of the week. ”Running after women never hurt anybody-it is catching them that does the damage.”
