The Wednesday Wacker’s again had a good field and it was Barry (Crewy) Cameron that returned to the winner’s circle with an honest score of 35 points. Next best was Jason Brady 34, after a countback with Robbie Porter and Dan Riley all with 34. Jason Brady was the NTP winner on the 15th.
The Thursday veteran’s also attracted a better field than in recent weeks and Jack Mitchell took first place with 38 but only after a countback from Tony Johnson. Mike Petrov was next best with 37 and Owen Presnell (Walcha) won the NTP on the 3rd.
Joe Walters was the trophy donor for Saturday’s stableford and a pretty ordinary day greeted a reasonable sized field. Early morning player Jon Izzard, who played ahead of the worsening weather, won the day with 37 points. Ross Anderson took second spot, 36 and Dactyl Carlon was third after a countback with the Big Bird Doug Taggart.
NTP winners on the day were, RAB 3rd Dactyl Carlon, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th, Ross Anderson and the Bridges Finance 17th Tim Bower. Tim also managed to win the Mars Bar, even after his 2 a four on the 17th where he nearly holed his tee shot.
Next Saturday I understand it will be a stableford for a trophy sponsored by Neil (Splitpin ) Cullen. The Ross Anderson sponsored match play is seeking nominations and a sheet is up on the board. A draw will be held once we have sufficient nominations.
Also a reminder for our Baby Boomers show on Nov 2nd. A great show is assured and we are urging people to book their tickets sooner rather than later. Cost is only $45 per head plus a meal should you decide you want to eat at the club before the show.
Some of us have seen this show before and there is no doubt it will be one of the best nights of your entertainment life.
