With the sting out of the ground players found it a little more difficult last Wednesday, that is except for the NUNDLE BURGULAR, Robbie Porter returned 41 points to be a clear winner. Darrell Carson was second with 38 and Neil Cullen and Richard Cullen both had 37. NTP winner was John (Happy) Holman on the 15th. Garry Mackaway secured the use of the orange ball next Wednesday with 25 points.
Thursday vet’s were not held last week as most of the club’s veterans travelled to Glen Innes to play the third round of the pennants and this year the Uralla vets are in their best position ever holding down second spot behind Guyra with two rounds to play, Walcha and Armidale.
Peter Dixon and Chalkie Chandler were our best performing players on the day, both having 37 points, other good scores came from Richard Cannon and Vicki Barraclough.
Saturday saw the Ian Douglas Memorial Day sponsored by Debbie Douglas and we played a 4BBB stableford and it was, I believe, very appropriate that the winners were Duncan McLean and Darrell Carson with 47 points. Duncan and Darrell played in the Twilight Competition with Ian for some years. Peter Dixon and Phil Robinson were next best with 45 after a countback with Dactyl Carlon and Herb McMillan.
NTP winners were, RAB 3rd not won, NAB 6th Robbie Porter, 9th Peter Richardson, 11th Geoff Wood, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Sam Smith and Bridges Finance 17th Darrell Carson.
