Don Plummer had a win last Wednesday with 38 points. It has been a while since his last win so it is good to see him back. Chickie Chappell was next best with 37 and Bruce the Gnome had 36 the same as Peter Dixon and Chalkie Chandler. Good to see Dicko back on deck after a long break because of ill health. Well done Dicko.
Mike Petrov won the Thursday Veteran’s competition last week with 39 points but only after a countback with John (Happy) Holman. Judy Marshall was the best of the ladies with 36 and Jack Mitchell next best in the men also 36. Peter Macready 6th, Jody Marshall 15th and Albert Elgi 17th were the NTP winners.
Two new lady members also turned out for their first competition game on Thursday and it is a big welcome to Vicki Holman and Susie Spencer.
Beware the wounded golfer is an old catchphrase but it certainly applied on Saturday when Peter Dixon took the Guzzlers Mug with a fine net 65. Dicko narrowly defeated Crewy Cameron and Darrell Carson both 66 and Vern Christensen was next best. NTP winners were, RAB 6th Brue the Gnome (The Gnome also won the Mars Bar), the NAB 6th Peter Dixon, 9th Darrell Carson and the other three were the Crewy Cameron show. The 11th, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th and the Bridges Finance 17th went to Crewy and I should not mention that he managed to three putt two of them.
The Club Championships will be played over the second and third weekends in March and a nomination sheet will be on the board soon. Hopefully they will be well supported and keen competition will happen in each grade. Also the vet’s week of golf is straight after Easter and there have already been good numbers nominate so get yours in soon.
Tina Gibson has her second week in the Kitchen and the feedback from everybody I have spoken to has been very good so we are looking for a long and mutually rewarding relationship with her.
The AGM will also be programmed very soon and please remember that all board positions will need filling so please give it your serious consideration as some new people and ideas are desperately needed.
Quote of the week. “Sight is a faculty; seeing is an art.”
Good Golfing .
