Darrell’s Weekly Wrap December 10th 2017

Wednesday golf this week was the Xmas party event and we played a cross country event, followed by some refreshments and food. A great day was had by all and I don’t remember nor do I care who won the 4 man Ambrose event.

Whilst several of our veterans went to Walcha on Thursday there was enough players to hold a competition at Uralla. The winner of the day was Rob Brown with 37 points from Les (I’m in a Hurry) Forde 36, once again breaking his age, and Ray Honery was third with 34.  Noelene Porter was the best of the ladies.

Graham and Bev Carlon were the trophy donors for a stroke round on Saturday as well as it being the playoff for the monthly Guzzlers Mug winners. Sam Smith made short work on both events with a fine 64 nett.  I think that would be one of Sam’s best ever rounds.

Trevor (Fairweather) Wilson was next best with 66 and Tony Duff 68 was the other player to break net par.

NTP winners  were NAB 6th, Shane Barraclough, 9th and 11th both to Trevor Wilson, Sam Smith the Rob Brown Denture Clic 15th and the big bird himself, Sparra Taggart the Bridges finance 17th. It was a good field and the course conditions just continue to improve.

Quote of the week “I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”

Good Golfing .
