Darrell Carson made it two wins in a row when he won the Wednesday stableford last week. It was a very windy day and three players handles the conditions pretty well. Darrell won with 37 points and a countback was required with Les Forde and Ross Anderson. Les took second over Ross. Bad luck Ross about the out of bounds on the 18th. The Big Bird himself won the NTP on the 3rd. Well done Sparra Taggart.
The Thursday vet’s also encountered windy conditions and it was Kevin Ward taking the major prize with a very good 39 points. Jack Mitchell was next best with 38 and Mike Petrov took third spot with 35. Noelene Porter was the best of the ladies also with 35.
A windy and cold winter’s day greeted the players that turned up to play in Saturday’s Presidents Guzzler’s mug. The best score of the day went to visitor Richard Martin (Nambucca Heads) with a net 69, but the winner of the Mug was our very own Les (I;m in a hurry) Forde with a net 69. A countback k was needed between Splitpin Cullen and Jon Izzard and Les. Once again Colleen Taggart confirmed her position as the number one golfer in the family when she had the best ladies score and 6th overall to be the best lady.
NTP winners were RAB 6th Tiger Clutterbuck and The NAB 15th Neil Bullen. The Bridges Finance pin was not won.
Sunday was the annual Junior Classic, sponsored by the Regional Australia Bank and several clubs were represented and whilst I am sure the kids did not enjoy the weather, cold , I’m sure those that played had a good day.
The overall Junior champion was Toby Cooper, (Uralla) from Rhys Deveney (Moree) and the Champion Girl was Bree Purse (Moree) from Taryn Maher (Gunnedah).
The nine hole players saw Cooper Smith (Uralla) win from Luke Deveney (Moree) and Oliver Thomas (Tamworth). NTP winners were 3rd Bree Purse, 11th Cooper Smith, 15th Luke Deveney and the 17th Oliver Thomas.
