Wednesday we played a 4BBB stableford for the Peter Acton trophy and a very good field hit off. There were three teams that returned scores of 44 points and whilst Carol Shields and Duncan McLean had the best countback and Neil Cullen and Doug Taggart were next best I am not sure who were actually awarded the winners. It seems our esteemed captain had celebrated his birthday a little long and strong and was not thinking as clearly as normal. Kevin Ward and Darrell Carson also had 44 to finish third after the countback. In any case Jon I hope you enjoyed your birthday.
The Thursday vet’s also attracted a good field and the old marvel Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde had an 87 off the stick to return 39 points and be a clear winner. Jack Mitchell was next best with 35 with Noelene Porter finishing third. These days it is a surprise when Les doesn’t break his age. Colleen Taggart won the NTP on the 6th.
Saturday we played a stroke round for the Guzzlers Mug sponsored by Geoff Wood and it was Shawn (K-Mart) Northam that won the day with a very solid 67 nett. A three way countback was required to find the minor placings, Barry Cameron was second from Shane Barraclough and Kevin Ward all returning a nett 69.
NTP winners were on the NAB 6th Shane Barraclough, (Shane was less than 30 centimeters from the hole) and Colleen Taggart won the Bridges Finance 17th. The big bird himself Sparra Taggart won the mars bar and once again Colleen proved she is the best golfer in the Taggart family when she had a nett 71.

Good Golfing .
