The best Wednesday field for some time turned out last Wednesday to play on this beautiful Autumn day. Good scores were the order of the day also with Darrell Carson taking first spot with 43 points. The 75 off the stick was his best round for many months but was required to push Boonah visitor Vern Christensen 41 points into second spot. Tony Duff was next best with 39.
Judy Marshall won the Thursday Vet’s golf last week with 41 points. Judy was recently hit in the head with a golf ball and it is good to see her back on the course again and obviously in very good form. Walcha visitor Col Berry was next best with 40 and Albert Egli third on 38. NTP winners were Terry Mitchell (McLean Golf Club) and Ian Duncan.
Several visitors were included in Saturday’s field for a club trophy and Wayne Porter (Hervey Bay) was the winner from Robbie Porter, (The Nundle Burglar) 39 and Jon Izzard was the best of the locals with 38.
NTP winners were RAB 3rd Don Plummer, NAB 6th Geoff Wood, 9th Simon Wood. 11th Simon Sanderson, Rob Brown’s Denture Clinic 15th Simon Wood again and the Bridges Finance 17th Robbie Porter.
This coming week we have the veteran’s week of golf and I shall have some results for you next week.
Another reminder about the AGM on Sunday April 15th at 10.am. Please come to show your support and I should point out that at least two current board members will not be seeking re-election. Don’t be afraid to put your name forward.
I should mention that there has been a state of confusion at the club by some of the visitors, it seems that some thought Colleen Taggart was in fact Colleen Petrov so I don’t know if that makes Sparra, Doug Petrov or Mike, Mike Taggart.
Quote of the week: “Everyone complains of his memory, no one of his judgement.”
Good Golfing .
