Dan Riley had a massive 42 points to take the major prize last Wednesday. Not only did he take the first place he also took my money when normally 39 points would be good enough not to lose. My partner, Richard Cannon will play with the orange ball next Wednesday. It was a beautiful winter’s day at Uralla and a pleasure to be out on the course.
The Thursday vet’s only attracted a small field which was surprising as it was another great day weather-wise. Popeye Whiting returned to the winners circle with 37 points from Tony Johnson 36 taking second spot.
A second afternoon competition was held and was predominately Armidale players and it was Lindsay Wittig that got the money with 38 from Peter Schultz 37 after a countback with Graham Benton.
McRae’s Bus Services were the sponsor for Saturday’s stableford and Dactyl Carlon won with 39 points. A three way countback was required to get the minor placings with Barry Cameron getting the nod from Trevor Carson and Les Forde, breaking his age again, and again and again.
NTP winners were RAB 3rd Craig Morgan, NAB 6th, 11th and Bridges Finance 17th all to Neil Bullen and 9th to birthday boy Craig Hyde and Kirin Walters took the Rob Brown Denture clinic 15th.
