Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 31/01/2021
The usual Wednesday Wacker’s once again had a good field and it was the turn of Jim Walkinshaw to fire and his 40 points (including a miss) was too good for Barry Cameron 38 and Peter Richardson 37. I had the pleasure of playing with Jim and he was in scintillating form. Jim turned with 23 and maintained his good form after a miss on the next hole.
Michael Welbourn will play with the orange ball next week and the NTP winner was, Richard Cannon on the 15th.
The Thursday vets did not hold a competition because of the pennants at Walcha. Needless to say most of us struggled with the sand greens and our scores were not very good and we are already a fairway behind in the 2021 pennant series. Walcha lead from Guyra after round 1.
The Geoff Wood sponsored Guzzler’s Mug was played on Saturday and the winner with a fine 66 nett was new member Dane O’Connor, from fellow new member and life partner Janelle Waters 68 and Jason Barraclough picked up 3rd spot after a countback with Michael Petrov with 70 nett. It appears that the Mars Bar was won by Neil Free with 83.
NTP winners were NAB 6th Kim Burraston, and Dactyl Carlon won both the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th and the Bridges Finance 17th.
Next Saturday will be a 2 person Ambrose for Duncan and Carol’s trophy. Bob Brown is rostered for bar duty.
