I am back after a week away and this week will have a short report. Wednesday saw the Xmas in July (even though it was still June) party and we played a Canadian Foursome instead of our usual cross country. The winners were Herb McMillan and Neil Free. The scores were pretty close on the day with only a couple of shots separating first and last.
Crewy Cameron won the Shearer’s Poker.
Suzie Spencer had 38 points to be a clear winner in the Thursday Vet’s event from the ever improving Phillip Kelly, 36 with Jack Mitchell taking 3rd spot. I think this is Suzie’s second win ever so well done to you Suzie, make it a habit.
Geoff Wood continues to sponsor the Monthly Guzzlers Mug and last Saturday and Sally Burraston took her second Mug within a couple of months. Sally’s nett just knocked out Trevor (Fairweather) Wilson and Peter Dixon both of whom had 65 nett. A special mention for Robbie Porter who broke par off the stick for the first time. Robbie had 69 gross for a nett 66 and next week will play off 2 handicap. Congratulations Robbie may you continue to improve and continue to break par.
NTP winners were, RAB 3rd Aaron Whackett, NAB 6th and Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th both to Peter Dixon. The Big Bird Sparra Taggart the 9th, Moon Barraclough 11th, and Darrell Carson the Bridges Finance 17th.
The Ladies played a qualifying round for the Graham Betts trophy on Sunday and the day attracted 19 visitors as well as a few locals. Meg Davidson, Walcha, was the winner on the day after returning a very solid 41 points. Next best was Jennifer Tierney, Guyra with 40. Jennifer Rogers and Belinda Lenehan, both Guyra had 39. The best of the locals was Bronnie Wilson and Coleen Taggart whom both had 37.
