Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 29th July 2018

A beautiful winter’s day saw only a small field hit off on Wednesday as a lot of our regular Wednesday players are touring the Hunter Valley on a weeklong Golfing holiday.

Geoff Wood won with a very solid 38 points from Sam Smith,37 and Peter Dixon was  next with 36. Bruce the Gnome won the NTP on the 3rd.

The Thursday Veteran’s competition only attracted a small field and this time it was Ian Duncan with 39 points who took the major prize. Jack Mitchell took second spot after a countback with Bronnie Wilson. Nobody managed to win the NTP.

Les Forde was the sponsor for Saturday’s stableford and a very good field hit off on a beautiful winter’s day, it is just a pity that the course is so very dry.

Peter Richardson won with a sensational 42 points from Ross Anderson and Wayne Mackaway (MacLean) after a countback, both having 39 points. NTP winners were Wayne Mackaway RAB 3rd,Vicki Barraclough NAB 6th, Shane Barraclough 9th, 11th Darrell Carson, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th and the Bridges Finance 17th to Neil Bullen.

Sunday saw the Central North qualifying for the Keno State 4BBB held at Uralla and the team of J Philp and M Fisher with +7 won the day from the local duo of Chris Chaffey and Darrell Carson +5. The winning team will now travel to Bonville to contest the state final in early October. Good luck boys.

Next Saturday we will play for the Neil Free trophy and the following Saturday it will be Peter Richardson’s 4 ball event where there will be draw for partners.

Quote of the week:   ”Even if you win the Rat Race, you are still a Rat  ”

Good Golfing.
