What a difference a week makes, it was only last Wednesday when I recall that Trevor (Fairweather) Wilson finished at the tail of the field, well this week he finished on top with a very solid 39 points in a closely contested competition. Trevor’s score included a miss and a couple of ones. Well done Trevor.
Peter (Dicko) Dixon also had a return to form, must have started using the Driver I sold him, and his 38 points to claim second spot was his best score for some time. Next best with 37 was the consistent Crewy Cameron. Garry Dowdell won the NTP.
The scores were red hot on Thursday in the vet’s competition. The inform Ian Duncan had 43 points to narrowly defeat Jack Mitchell 42. These two also combined to take the Alan Foster shield with a record breaking 42.5 points. Well done fellas and Mike Petrov took the NTP on the 17th.
Les Forde sponsored an individual stableford on Saturday and a good field turned out on a beaut winter’s day at Uralla. With several of our regulars away at Nambucca Heads it was good to see the turn out.
A new member, David Hyne playing his first comp game returned a magnificent 46 points to easily the day. What a score. Well done David I hope we see you back again soon, but you will need to check your handicap. Ross Anderson took second spot with 41 points and there was a 4 way countback needed to find 3rd place which went to Darrell Carson, 39 points. Good scores were the order of the day. Sponsor Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde also had 39 this time breaking his age with an 87 off the stick. Congratulations old timer.
A good fun day was had by all and the several visitors we had commented about enjoying their day at Uralla. NTP winners were, 3rd Will Mellor, RAB 6th Colleen Taggart, 11th Darrell Carson, NAB 15th Ross Anderson and Bridges Finance 17th Darrell Carson.
