Darrell Carson had a win last Wednesday, the first in a long while, his 41 points was good enough to beat Tim Bower, 39 and Neil Cullen 39 after a countback. Murray Kennedy, Armidale, was next best and Barry Cameron will play with the orange ball next week. That’s most unusual for the consistent Barry.
The Veterans held their open 4 BBB on Thursday and only a small field turned out which was disappointing. The winners on the day were Bob Brown and Mike Petrov with 50 points from Tony Johnson and Geoff Leedham, 47 after a countback with Margaret Macready and Marj Chappell. Geoff in particular will need to check his handicap before playing again.
NTP winners were, Dactyl Carlon on 3rd and 17th, 6th Darrell Carson, 9th Marj Chappell, (a sensational shot), 11th Coleen Taggart and the 15th Neil Bullen.
Saturday’s Geoff Wood sponsored Guzzlers Mug saw Sam Smith hit off early in the day, shot 67 nett and hang onto the lead all day. Sam defeated Coleen Taggart after a countback and Darrell Carson was next best.
NTP winners were, NAB 6th Coleen Taggart, RAB 9th Tony Park, the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Aaron Whackett and Dactyl Carlon the Bridges Finance 17th.
Quote of the week: “In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.”
