Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 21/03/2021
Golf for Uralla members started earlier last week when several of us travelled to Armidale to play in the veterans pennants and as usual we managed to run last. Armidale were the victors of the day from Walcha, Guyra, Glen Innes and Uralla. The odds are very much stacked against Uralla and unless they rules change I think that we will struggle to get a team in future years.
Wednesday Wacker’s did play as usual and Bruce (The Gnome) McMullen won the day with 34 points. Barry Cameron was once again runner up after counting out Richard Cannon.
Deb Douglas was the trophy Donor for a 4BBB stableford on Saturday in memory of husband Ian. A good field took part and good scores were the order of the day. Father & Son combination Dactyl and Harley Carlon won with 45 points.
Barry Cameron and Louise Carson had 43 and the lady combination of Noelene Porter and Coleen Taggarttoo0k third with 42 after a countback with Ross Anderson and Chalkie Chandler.
NTP winners were; RAB 3rd Shane Barraclough, NAB 6th Coleen Taggart, Jason Brady 9th Neil Bullen and the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15 went to Warren Sellings.
Next Saturday it is the Guzzlers Mug which will be held in conjunction with the Shane & Vicki sponsored Stableford/Par event. Apparently you just keep your stroke score and after submitting your stroke card you then convert the first 9 to stableford and the second 9 to par. Somebody will work out the winners.
