The Wednesday wackers saw a few good scores last week. Tiger Clutterbuck had 41 points to narrowly defeat Trevor (Fairweather) Wilson 40 whilst Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde won the NTP on the 9th with a sensational shot. Trevor Wilson and the Big Bird Sparra Taggart won their next round of the match play.
The Thursday vet’s again attracted a good field and it was the inform Chickie Chappell who won the day with 39 points from Bronnie Wilson 38 and Shirley Martin also 38 taking the minor placing. John Holman and Jack Mitchell were the NTP winners on the 9th and 17th respectively. Good to see the ladies getting among the scores.
The Guzzlers Mug sponsored by Geoff Woods was played on Saturday and Crewy Cameron won with a fine 68 nett. Trevor (Fairweather) Wilson proved he is not just a fairweather player by taking second spot with 70 after a countback with Armidale visitor Greg Gillan.
The ball comp went down to 73 and the NTP winners were, RAB 3rd Darrell Carson, NAB 6th Tony Duff, Jeff Porter on both the 9th and the Bridges Finance 17th and Crewy Cameron won the Rob Brown Debenture Clinic 15th.
At the time of doing this report I did not have any results of the St Joseph’s Charity Day but I think I can assume that the day was a success and hopefully very beneficial to the school.
Finally this week I must mention Richard and Karen Cannon who filled in as the club caterers last Friday. Everybody I spoke to were very happy with their meal and were asking could Richard and Karen do it again sometime. Their efforts were much appreciated and enjoyed by all.
