Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 16/06/2019

The Wednesday Wackers on 5th June only attracted a small field because of the lousy weather. The weather did not deter Tiger Clutterbuck though as he had 37 including a miss on the last hole to win the day. Dan Riley was second with 35 and Chalkie Chandler next with 34. Chalkie also claimed the NTP on the 15th.

Thursday vets on the 6th June was a much better day and in fact was a beaut winter’s day in the New England. Bob Brown returned to the winners circle with 38 to be a clear winner from Jack Mitchell and Barry Cameron.

Sam Smith made it two wins on the trot when he won on Saturday 8th claiming the club trophy from the consistent Robbie Porter after a countback on 39 points. Tim Bower took third spot on 37.

Wednesday Wacker’s played again on 12th June and was greeted with a beautiful winter’s day and a good field faced the starter. Frank Molinari won with 39 points from Herb McMillan and Darrell Carson and Gary Dowdell all who had 37. Les Forde once again had 86 off the stick. He must be getting sick of breaking his age. Dan Riley will play with the orange ball next Wednesday.

The ever improving Phillip Kelly won the vets competition last Thursday with 38 points after a countback with Tim Bower. Noelene Porter was the best of the ladies.

Sparra Taggart was the sponsor for a Bisque Par event on Saturday and a good field turned out to play but it was the Old Girl that won the day. After sitting in the clubhouse whining about how bad her golf was she goes out and has +7. I believe she still had several unused shots left as well.  Well done Lil it is a pity I cannot handicap you on this event.

Tony Duff +7 took second spot after a countback and Sam Smith +5 was third after another countback with Tim Bower. NTP winners on the day were, RAB 3rd Robbie Porter, NAB 6th Tim Bower, 9th Kirin Walters, 11th Vicki Barraclough, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Shane Barraclough and the Bridges Finance 17th Lil Faulkner.

Quote of the week: “Good fortune knocks but once, Misfortune is much more patient.”

Good Golfing.
