Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 16/02/2020

The Wednesday Wacker’s field continues to grow and this week Dom Bower managed to win with 36 points. It is amazing how much tougher the course has become now that a bit of grass has reappeared.  Jason Brady took second spot after a countback with Tim Bower both having 35 points. My old mate Les will play with the orange ball next time, and Tiger Clutterbuck won the NTP.

There was no golf for the veterans on Thursday due to the wet weather.

Saturday was an individual stableford for the Sam Smith trophies and once again a good field hit off. Winner of the day was Todd Jacobs with a sensational 42 points. Todd made me a liar saying the course was playing much tougher. The rest of the field found it tough though and only Robbie Porter with 37 points could better his handicap. Geoff Wood was next best on 35.

Sally Burraston won the mars bar and I should mention Dom Bower, who won on Wednesday, this time finishing down near the bottom of the field.

NTP winners were, RAB 3rd Jason Brady, NAB 6th Doug Taggart, 9th Tim Bower, 11th Crewy Cameron, Rob Brown’s Denture Clinic 15th Dactyl Carlon and the Bridges Finance 17th Simon Wood.

I notice that Sparra Taggart also has a new identity and is now known as Little Pecker, might have something to do with being called Sparra instead of the Big Bird.

The club championships are also coming up very soon. Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th sees the first weekend with the final two rounds to be played on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th.  There is a timesheet on the board so get you names in ASAP.

Quote of the week. ”When you wallow with pigs expect to get dirty…”

Good Golfing
