Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 15th April 2018

The Nundle Burglar was at it again on Wednesday, this time Robbie Porter managed 43 points to be a clear winner from the inform Dan Riley, 40 and Des Vidler 39 third,the Big Bird himself Sparra Taggart, 38 was next bestafter a countback with Neil Free.  John (Happy) Holman won the NTP on the 9th. The Orange ball next week will be used by none other than Tiger (Jack Brabham) Clutterbuck.

Happy Holman had a return to top form on Thursday and his 41 points proved too strong for the rest of the vet’s field. The consistent Des Vidler finished second again with another score of 39 and Jack Mitchell was third with 37.  The NTP winners were Popeye Whiting on the 3rd and Judy Marshall on the 17th.

The annual Keno state 4BBB qualifying was held on Saturday with the top two teams moving onto the district qualifying on July 29th also at Uralla. Trevor Carson and Craig Hyde qualified number 1 and Chris Chaffey and Darrell Carson at the number 2 spot. These results only came about after a three way countback between the two teams mention above and Shane Barraclough and Shaun Northam, all three teams finishing with plus 9 score.

NTP winners were, RAB 3rd Charlie Murray, NAB 6th Shaun Northam, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th, Robbie Porter and the Bridges Finance 17th Shaun Northam again.

Sunday saw the AGM held at the clubhouse and the following people were elected, President; Darrell Carson; and Vice President  Mike Petrov;

Captain Jon Izzard and vice captain Trevor Carson. The committee is made up of Doug (Sparra )Taggart, Mary Dufty and Duncan McLean. I should like to welcome everybody aboard and wish them every success going forward.

The most important item on the agenda for the AGM was however the appointment of two life members, namely Les Forde and Lil Faulkner, Congratulations to both these long service members as between them they have more than 100 years of membership and both have been very involved with the success of the club over the years.
