Well here we go again, Les (I’m in a hurry) Forde won again last Wednesday this time with 40 points and of course he broke his age again. Jim Walkinshaw was next best with 39 and I believe he had a couple of hard luck stories and should have finished several shots better, but lots of people have the bad luck tales to tell. Big Bird Doug Taggart had 38 to claim 3rd spot after a countback with Gary Dowdell.
On Thursday Michael Petrov was the winner with 42 with Susie Spencer next on 41, I believe that might be Susie’s best finish so a win is not far away. The ever improving Vicki Holman was third with 39. Bob Brown won the NTP on the 3rd.
It would be remiss of me not to mention Les Forde again as on Thursday he finished at the opposite end finishing last and finished 13 shots behind his Wednesday score. What a difference a day can make, but I am sure Les will be back very soon.
Saturday and we played a two man ambrose for the state qualifying ambrose to be played at Bonville later in the year. The winning team of Peter Dixon and Kirin Walters with a fine 59.5 will now move onto further qualifying at the Longyard at a date to be fixed. DAVID Carlon and Chris Smith were next with 60.75. Tony Park and Nick Crowley (Armidale) were third and Splitpin Cullen and Warren Sellings finished next best.
The ladies played and individual stableford and Vicki Barraclough 36 points beat Carol Shields on a countback to claim the major prize.
NTP winners on the day were RAB 3rd Coleen Taggart, NAB 6th and the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th both to Crewy Cameron and Mark Faulkner the Bridges Finance 17th.
Once again I mention the Club’s AGM to be held Sunday 28th April, 10am at the clubhouse and we would appreciate everyone making an effort to get there. All position will be declared vacant so this is your opportunity to put your name up and have a real say in the operation of your club.
