The best Wednesday field ever hit off last Wednesday and Armidale visitor Mick McKee came down the highway and claimed the major prize. Mick had 36 points to narrowly defeat Darrell Carson 35. Gary Dowdell and Robbie Porter both had 34 and Bruce the Gnome won the NTP on the 15th. Ross Anderson will play with the orange ball next week.
Only a small field played in the Thursday Veterans competition and it was Mike Petrov who won the day. Mike won from Coleen Taggart and Coleen also claimed the NTP.
The weekend saw the first two rounds of the Championships and after the two rounds Trevor Carson leads with 156 from Robbie Porter157. In B Grade Aaron Whackett is very comfortably in front with 159. Peter Doyle leads C Grade with 176.
The Ladies event sees Vicki Barraclough a clear leader over Mary Dufty 167 to 176 whilst in division 2 Noelene Porter leads Marj Chappell 185 to 193.
The nett events each day saw Carol Shields with 67 win the day from Aaron Whackett on Saturday whilst Sunday saw Aaron Whackett produce probably his best round ever to have a nett 63 to be a clear winner. Shane Barraclough was next best with 69 after a countback with Trevor Carson.

Next Thursday 12th March sees Uralla hosting round of the Veterans Pennants and we are assured of a good field, however we need as many locals as possible to play so get you names to Mike Petrov ASAP. The event sees a 9 for 9.30 shotgun start.
Next weekend of course is the 3rd and 4th rounds of the championships so it will be interesting to see if the current leaders can hang on or can someone come from behind and cause an upset.
