Darrell’s Weekly Wrap 07/03/2021
A beautiful autumn day greeted the Wednesday Wacker’s last week and Dom Bower, back playing for the first time in a while won with 39 points. It seems that Dom enjoyed his break and took no time to get back into form. Robbie Porter, also returning to form, had a 71 off the stick to return 38 points and claim second spot after a countback with the consistent Jim Walkinshaw. Richard Cannon won the NTP on the 6th.
Albert Egli won the Thursday Veteran’s competition but only after a 4 way countback from Mike Petrov, Coleen Taggart and Les (I’m in a Hurry) Forde. Nobody could claim the NTP.
Saturday was the first round of the club championships and in the event of the day Kim Burraston was a clear winner with a very solid 68 nett. Charlie Murray 69 was next best and Neil Bullen 70 took third spot. NTP winners were, RAB 3rd Dactyl Carlon, NAB 6th John Holman, Jason Brady 9th Neil Bullen, 11th Neil Bullen, Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Shane Barraclough, Bridges Finance 17th was not won.
Sunday’s second round saw Darrell Carson a clear winner with a nett 64 and Geoff Wood took second spot with nett 70. NTP winners were 6th Darrell Carson, 9th Kris Hueston (Kempsey) 11th Jason Brady, 15th Trevor Carson and 17th Tim Murray.
After two days Robbie Porter leads the Club Championships with 151 from Charlie Murray 155. B Grade sees Darrell Carson 161 ahead of Peter Richardson 165. C Grade sees Tony Park with 182 leading from John Holman 188. For the Ladies Coleen Taggart 182 leads from Carol Shields and Vicki Barraclough both on 183. In B grade Noelene Porter 190 is just ahead of Marj Chappell 191.
The overall Nett is led by Darrell Carson ahead of Charlie Murray 141 and for the Ladies Carol Shields and Coleen Taggart share the 36 hole lead with 145.
Next Saturday and Sunday sees the final two rounds of the Championships, with a time sheet start for Saturday and a seeded draw will be done on Sunday.
