A beautiful New England Summer’s day greeted a strong field last Wednesday and it was Chalkie Chandler who won the day with a very solid 39 points. Peter Dixon was the big improver from previous weeks and his 38 points was good enough to claim second spot ahead of Darrell Carson 36.
Tamworth visitor Claude Orenstien won the NTP on the 17th. It appears that Ross Anderson might need new grips on a couple of his clubs as I understand a couple flew out of his hand last week, one even caught his foot as it was falling.
The Thursday Vets competition saw Noelene Porter win on a countback from Michael Petrov, both with 36. Michael won the NTP on the 9th. Obviously the holiday suited Noelene winning on her first event since coming home. Well done Noelene it is always good to beat Mike I reckon.
Duncan and Carol sponsored a two person ambrose on Saturday and one of our best fields in a long time turned out to play. The winners with a nett 62 were Chris Chaffey and Craig Hyde, from The Cocky and the Cocky Hater, (i.e. John Holman and Ross Anderson) with nett 62.25. Third were Neil Cullen and Tony Whiting 62.5.
NTP winners were, RAB 3rd Jon Izzard, NAB 6th and the 11th Neil Cullen, Jason Brady sponsored 9th Troy Dawson, the Rob Brown Denture Clinic 15th Crewy Cameron and the Bridges Finance 17th Jane Dell. The winners of the Mars bar were Noelene Porter and Marj Chappell.
Next Saturday John & Vicki will sponsor a stableford and I hope the strong fields continue. You will not see the course in better condition
