Carol’s Weekly Wrap 14/12/25
Wednesday Whackers held their Christmas cross country event, and everyone had a great day, (well, some not so fun). As it’s cross country you are hitting to and from different tees and greens, 1 of the holes is hitting from the 17th tee to the 5th green, so you can imagine it’s a blind shot over the dam near the 4th green. Trevor Carson hit his ball over the dam and Ol Capitano Izzard was near the 4th green when Trevor’s ball hit him straight on the top of his hand as he was getting a club out. So, Jon had to retire for the rest of his game injured. And it was Jon’s 1st and maybe last cross country.
Thursday’s Thirsty Medley was a single stableford and some finished before the storm hit. The winner with 41pts was Rhonda McIlveen, r/up was Jack Mitchell with 38pts, the encouragement award went to Jimmy Walkinshaw.
Saturday was Mark and Deli Faulkner’s Ham Day which was a 2person ambrose and the winners were Shags and Finn Connors. The other prizes were drawn out of the barrel, so congratulations to all the other winners and the Mars Bar Award went to Crewy Cameron and Duncan Arthur. As you all know the format of an ambrose, well one of the sponsors didn’t make the ladies tee on two occasions, the last one they had to take Mark’s drive on the 18th, and he didn’t make the ladies tee again. Mark wasn’t the only one who didn’t make the ladies tee, on the 5th hole our much-loved bar tender Dean was the culprit for this hole. That’s golf and everyone had such a good laughable day.
Today we held our annual Christmas Raffles, it was good to see such a great crowd out to snaffle a prize or two. Congratulation to all the winners.
